The 2022 U16/EHSC Maine Nordic Team Selection race was held at Sugarloaf Outdoor Center on Saturday. 61 girls and 81 boys competed to be on the U16
and EHSC Nordic teams. There was a 5K classical race in the morning and a 2.5K freestyle pursuit in the afternoon. The Maine team was selected based off of the pursuit results. In the girls pursuit, Brynne Robbins of Mt Blue won the pursuit with a combined time of 27:01. Nyla Scott of Gould Academy was second and Annabelle Brooks of Cheverus was third. For the boys, Joey Rouhana of Falmouth won the pursuit with a combined time of 22:14.1. Eli Shifrin of Gould Academy was second and Benjamin Condit of Quarry Road was third. The Maine U16 team will compete at the NENSA U16 Championships at Jackson, NH March 12-13. The Maine EHSC team will compete at the NENSA EHSC at Titcomb Mtn March 19-20.
