BNSHorzOnly250wideHere is the wax rec from Roger Knight of Boulder Nordic Sport East for the Sassi Memorial on Saturday :  For Glide for The Sassi: Iron in Rode Graphite. Let cool and then scrape and brush well. When you are done brushing, take two more passes to make sure the ski is clean.  Iron in Rode R40 Red mixed with Rode Endurance 1:1. I like to mix these by dripping on less than the normal amount of each wax and then ironing them together. Scrape and brush well.  Put on Rode Racing Liquid Warm and let it set overnight. Use the wool floppy roto brush to push it further in the ski in the morning, or the Rode Felt hand brush. Then brush out using hard white nylon. Rode Racing Liquid Extra Warm might also be a good choice or Swix HS8  or HS10 or TS8 or TS10. Structure:  Use the Holmenkol Cross Structure Tool with both rollers and medium firm pressure from the back of the binding to the tail.  For Kick for the Sassi: Sand all klister zones lightly.

If you have kids who are likely to snowplow klister off the skis, iron in a binder such as Rode Klister Base Spray or Swix or Toko Klister Binder.  For kids unlikely to snowplow the klister off I would iron in Guru 39 Hard the night before thin and let that setup. You could also use Rode Multigrade ironed in.  Be prepared on race day to cover with Guru 39, Rode Multigrade, Rode Multigrade mixed with Rossa, Rode Rossa, Guru Red, Rode KM3 or KR3. Usually I like Rex at Rumford, but these temps and conditions are just outside the Violet Rex range and not quite at the Red or Universal range. Remember that any of the Universal type klisters(Rode Multigrade, Guru 39, Swix Uni) can be improved as a track starts to glaze with adding Rode Rossa to help manage the moisture. This makes a great wax combo in the mid to high 30's.  For Glide for the afternoon races: Iron in Rode Graphite. Let cool and then scrape and brush well. When you are done brushing, take two more passes to make sure the ski is clean.  Iron in Rode R50 Yellow mixed with Rode Endurance 1:1. I like to mix these by dripping on less than the normal amount of each wax and then ironing them together. Scrape and brush well.  Put on Rode Racing Liquid Warm or Holmenkol Syntec FF2 liquid or Rode Racing Extra Warm and let it set overnight. Use the wool floppy roto brush to push it further in the ski in the morning, or the Rode Felt hand brush. Then brush out using hard white nylon. Swix HS8 or HS10 or TS8 or TS10 might also be a good choice also.  Structure for the afternoon races: A very firm pressure multiple passes with the Holmenkol Cross Structure Tool on the full ski. If you have skis to test it would also be worth trying a linear 1.0 whole ski, with the Cross Structure Tool overlayed on top.
