The U16 and EHSC Maine Team Nordic Qualifier is on Saturday, February 28 at Black Mtn. The purpose of the race is to select the teams to represent Maine at the 2015 NENSA U16 and Eastern High School Championships. Any athlete may enter the race, as long as they either attend a Maine High School or are Maine residents. The format will be a 5km Classic race in the morning, followed by a 5km FS Pursuit in the afternoon. The final pursuit results will be used to name the team. The top 21 U16 Boys and 21 U16 Girls will be named to the Maine U16 Nordic Team. The top 21* (there are 3 automatic qualifiers) Boys and 22 Girls (there are 2 automatic) will be named to the EHSC team. All athletes are required to pay a non-refundable team entry fee at the naming of the team. It is suggested that all athletes remain until the final team naming ceremony. EHSC Maine Team Info: the cost of the EHSC trip: $300/athlete. This year we are providing headbands as an extra to identify the relay teams. Team members may purchase a team jacket for $100 extra, and the non refundable trip payment must be made Saturday at the ceremony. All athletes are encouraged to stay for the naming of the team, as some racers may decline and we need to have our final team selected by the end of the day.
