The 2024 WMC Nordic Championships began today at Stark's Hill with the 5K Classical individual start. In the girls race, Sylvia Harvey of Greely is the 2024 WMC Classical Champion. Her winning time was 16:11.1. Leah Kramer of Waynflete was second and Rowan Barry of Greely was third. In the boys race, Teo Steverlynck-Horne of Freeport is the 2024 WMC Classical Champion. His winning time was 12:50.6. Tait Harvey of Greely was second and Owen Dawson of Freeport was third. Day 2 of the WMC Nordic Champs is on Saturday with the 5K freestyle pursuit. RESULTS
The 2024 Maine EHSC Alpine Qualifier (The Shootouts) are on Sunday, February 18th at Black Mtn in Rumford. If an alpine racer (Male or Female) comes in the top 15 in either discipline (Slalom or Giant Slalom) at their respective state meet (class “A”, or “B”) they may attend the qualifier for a chance to make the state team and represent the state of Maine at the Eastern High School Championships. The Maine Nordic team selection committee met and approved the 2024 Maine Nordic Team selection criteria. Athletes who automatically qualified at the Maine Nordic Pursuit at the Sassi on Saturday, January 27th need to check their email immediately and complete the Google form by February 4th. The 2024 KVAC Nordic Championships are on Wednesday, February 7th and on Saturday, February 10th. Wednesday is the freestyle mass start at Black Mtn. Entries are due by 8:00pm, Sunday February 4th. Saturday is the classical pursuit at Titcomb Mtn. ENTRY/RACE INFO
